What does an Acupuncturist do?

A Chinese Medicine Acupuncture or Japanese Acupuncture practitioner will gently insert thin, single use, sterilised disposable acupuncture needles into specific points on the body, referred to as ‘acupoints’.
Qualified and registered Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioners may employ a range of additional techniques including moxibustion, cupping, herbal medicine, dry needling and tuina massage alongside an acupuncture treatment.

Is acupuncture safe?

Acupuncture is considered safe but occasionally (as with all health treatments) may be associated with possible adverse reactions in individual cases.

If you have any questions about Acupuncture, it is recommended you contact your local Gold Coast acupuncture clinic near you.

Does acupuncture hurt?

Our clinical experience identifies that people report acupuncture to be a relaxing modality. Some pain may be present upon insertion, or dull and ache feelings can appear, it is important you tell your practitioner if you feel any pain to ensure your experience is pleasant and painless.
